CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of many phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. There is a lot of confusion surrounding the differences between full-spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolated forms of CBD. 
Full spectrum and broad spectrum CBD can be found at the pharmacy or grocery store, and will contain 0.3% or less of THC. Full spectrum CBD contains all phytocannabinoids including negligible amounts of THC (below 0.3%), that work together to enhance the health benefits of each individual cannabinoid in a process called the “entourage effect”. This process takes place when a combination of cannabinoids and terpenes work together to modulate overall experience of psychoactive effects. Each cannabinoid enhances the properties of the other while mitigating any potential adverse effects.
Broad spectrum CBD is the happy medium between full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. CBD isolate is made by extracting it from the plant and stripping all other cannabinoids from it. The benefits of CBD isolate is that it is 99% pure which will result in the highest concentration of CBD per serving, but does not produce the entourage effect and is less effective therapeutically than full spectrum or broad spectrum CBD.
We are currently using CBD isolate in our formulations, and plan to use full spectrum CBD as we expand to provide our customers with a more wholesome product.
